Arrange the Design in Silhouette Studio
Step 1: Upload the Halloween Witch Crown Design Template
Download the design file to a folder on your PC, then open the Silhouette Studio program and click the “File” button in the top panel, then click “Open.”
In the dialog box, browse to the folder in which you stored the design and double-click the file to open it in the Silhouette design software.
Step 2: Arrange the Halloween Witch Crown Design for its Cutting
In the central section of the design area, you will find the elements ready to be ungrouped and cut.
In the design area you will find the following pieces:
- The witch hat design
- The design of the witch legs
- The contour of the bats
- The outline of the cobweb
- The outline of the phrase “Trick-or-treat”
- The phrase “Trick-or-treat”.
You must adjust the size of the design before ungrouping the elements for cutting based on the size of your crown base.
The base for my wreath has an internal diameter of 9.7 in (24.6 cm).
Given the measurement of my base for the crown, I am going to adjust the design size before ungrouping it, so that the outline of the cobweb measures 12 in (30.5 cm) at its widest part.
Note: You must adjust the size of the design before ungrouping the elements to prevent them from losing their proportions.
Once the size of the design has been adjusted, you must select it, left-click, and in the menu that is displayed select “Ungroup”.
Cutting process
Step 1: Select the elements, materials, tools, and cutting settings for each element.
You must drag out of the design area the elements or layers that you do not want to cut yet and leave only the element that you are going to cut, I am going to start with the witch’s hat, but you can do it in any order.
Select the image, left-click, and in the menu that is displayed click on “ungroup”.
Once this element is ungrouped, separate the two layers that compose it and leave only one of them in the design area to be cut, I am going to cut the black layer first, but you can do it in any order.
To cut this element you must select the black EVA foam and put it on the cutting mat, load the mat into the machine with the aded material.
Insert the 3mm Kraft Blade into carriage 2 of the machine, and manually set the depth of the blade according to the thickness of the EVA foam you are using.
Tip: EVA foam is usually cut with the 3mm Kraft Blade to a depth of 10-15 depending on its thickness, always do a test cut to make sure you have properly set the blade.
Note: You can also use cardstock and the AutoBlade to cut this item.
Click the “Send” button in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options.
Now you are ready to cut the first piece!
Repeat the same steps with the purple layer of the hat, you must first bring it to the design area.
To cut this element you must select the purple EVA foam and put it on the cutting mat, load the mat into the machine with the aded material.
Insert the 3mm Kraft Blade into carriage 2 of the machine, and manually set the depth of the blade according to the thickness of the EVA foam you are using.
Click the “Send” button in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options.
Note: I chose EVA foam with glitter so I have to increase the depth of the blade a bit since it is a bit thicker.
You already have the first piece ready, it’s a beautiful hat!
You’re doing great, keep going!
Now I suggest you cut the legs of the witch. You must drag them to the design area, then you must select them and left-click, in the menu that is displayed click on “ungroup”.
Separate the black elements from the purple elements, I suggest you start by cutting the black elements.
Arrange elements in the design area to save cutting material.

Insert the 3mm Kraft Blade into carriage 2 of the machine, and manually set the depth of the blade according to the thickness of the EVA foam you are using.
Click the “Send” button in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options.
Repeat the same steps to cut the buckles for the witch’s boots, I suggest using a piece of silver metallic cardstock.
Note: Remember that to cut cardstock you must use the AutoBlade.
You’re doing great, cheer up, this Halloween Witch Crown will look beautiful!
Now I suggest you cut the outline of the cobweb, first you have to drag it to the design area.
To cut this element you must select the black cardboard and put it on the cutting mat, load the mat into the machine with the adhered material.
Insert the AutoBlade into carriage 1 of the machine.
Click the “Send” button in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options.
Tip: To better cut the angles that the cobweb has, I recommend you activate the option “Line Segment Overcut” with a length of 0.5 mm.
It looks spectacular!
How about now cutting the phrase “Trick or treat”?… You have to drag it to the design area, then select it, left-click and in the dropdown menu click “Ungroup”.
Leave the outline of the phrase in the design area to be cut first.
To cut this element you must select the black cardstock with glitter and put it on the cutting mat, load the mat into the machine with the added material.
Insert the AutoBlade into carriage 1 of the machine.
Click the “Send” button in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options.
You already have the first layer of this element ready.

Insert the AutoBlade into carriage 1 of the machine.
Click the “Send” button in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options.
Trick-or-Treat!
The only thing missing is a beautiful detail to cut… The bats!
First, you need to drag the outlines of the bats to the design area.
Now you must select them, left-click, and in the menu that is displayed click on “Ungroup”, then you must move them closer to save material in the cut.
To cut this element you must select the black cardstock with glitter and put it on the cutting mat, load the mat into the machine with the added material.
Insert the AutoBlade into carriage 1 of the machine.
Click on the “Submit” option in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options
Tip: To better cut the angles that the bats have, I recommend you activate the option “Overcut Line Segment”, with a length of 0.5 mm.
Super cute!
Well, now that you have all the elements cut, all that remains is to carry out the assembly process.
You’re almost done!
Assembly process
Step 1: Using the LED Light Kit
Use the LED light kit by wrapping it around the metal base of the wreath.
Step 2: Using the Decorative Mesh Tape
Take the decorative mesh roll and wrap it around the base of the metal crown, and apply dots of liquid silicone to fix it.
Step 3: Using High-Quality Glue
First glue the elements that make up the witch’s hat and legs.
Glue the letters of the phrase “Trick or treat” to the outline.
Glue the cobweb to the back of the crown.
Now paste the phrase “Trick or treat” onto the front of the cobweb.
Then glue the witch’s hat and legs to the crown, I suggest you glue the legs with clear tape in the back part and the hat with liquid silicone in the front region.
Don’t forget to glue the bats, I suggest you distribute them and stick them on the cobweb using high-quality glue.
Step 4: Using Halloween Decorations
Finally, use the decorations that you have available such as bows or leaves. I used a crow and some pumpkin-shaped bells.
I LOVE IT!
Congratulations, your Halloween Witch Crown is ready!
